The very lovely Diana Frances Spencer who married Prince Charles with the belief that all her dreams had come true.
She had to learn quickly that the royal family were not quite as lovable as she was, and that her new husband fully intended to continue an ongoing affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, who was also married.
Diana went on to give Charles two sons, William and Harry, which did nothing to bring the couple closer, as Di had hoped. And so they divorced.

Not long afterwards, just as Diana had met Dodi Fayed and was beginning to know what it felt like to be loved, the couple were killed in a horrific car crash in Paris. She was 36 years old.
