LONG 'FORGOTTEN'

LOCATION CAPTURED: PRAIA DO BARRA PENINSULA, Inhambane Province, Mozambique

A, once used, old fishing fence, built with reeds, by a local fisherman in Mozambique. At hightide tide the water level rises much higher than the reeds, the fish comes in with hightide and as the tide changes and the water level goes down the fish land up in these huge areas that was fenced of
with reeds. About 70% of the peninsula has these, owned by local fisherman. At low tide they come and collect their catches. Sadly lots of beautiful tropical fish also loose their lives this way as they are just left to die. But, there are thousands of poor Mozambique people that have no income after the 20 years of war and this is the only way they can survive, to live of the sea.
