Thanks Phil! I was so thrilled when we made it to the Fort… it was the perfect time of the day, with the perfect sunlight, to obtain the perfect shot…

This portrait of your daughter, plus the same shot in color, are as good as portraits get. The angle of light, the hard brick setting, the soft but piercing expression on the face are a fascinating combination of surfaces, textures, and emotions which compel me to linger over them, but which at the same time keep me at a respectful distance. In other words, we’re drawn toward the picture and we’re tempted to try to enter the scene, but the image is always just a half-inch beyond our reach, which is where really fine art exists. ... And thanks so much for your comment today on my “Framed.”
Magricely Diaz replied
Peter you are so kind! No one has ever said anything so beautiful about any of my photos… Thanks, from the bottom of my heart. I truly appreciate your critique and your wise words… Thank You!!

This is so lovely! I voted for it in the older kids challenge ( : Funny thing, I have an image in my gallery of my 13 year old daughter, same colours and tones, same title – Contemplation… odd ( :
