this sinking feeling

there’s this weight
pressing down on me
it makes it hard

       to take a breath
       to inhale the light
       to spread my wings

       I sink
       I fall
       I drown

with purple tears
stuck in my throat
like shards of sunset glass

seeking sweet release in
a scream lodged in my heart
wedged between curvy ribs

lost in darkness
looking for the light
holding on
to what matters most

floating between here
and not quite there
flirting with the edge
and what’s beyond

       I sink
       I fall
       I drown

I am a very creative person and it’s my way of dealing with the world, inside and out. I am only happy when I am making things or painting or writing. There are just not enough hours in the day…. I am into poetry and photo manipulation at the moment and also dabbling in photography. :-)

This, Sybille, reminds me of what it feels to just live from day to day, with all the uncertainty life brings to us. I can relate with you on this one… on the human level. I’m not going to be preachy here, and I do appreciate your creative side on this, heart felt. I see sparks!

  • Thank you so much Russell. Greatly appreciated. :-)

do I really need to comment when we seem to be completely in sync. traveling the same path feels so obvious. even when I saw the title…did you know it’s been in my head and on my lips day after day? well written Sybille. I could repeat every line. it is here…in my heart. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Thanks so much. Synchronicity rules. Obviously. Although, I’d rather we’d both were happy. Hugs and lots of love. xoxoxoxoxoxooxx ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
