that room in my head

in my head there is a room
and only I have the key
there’s a deep wood in there
and a wide open desert too
embraced by the big blue water

I dance with the moonlit leaves
whispering above me
or crunch my toes into the silver sand
droplets of spray glistening
in the light of the stars

my heart rising with
the ebb and flow of the sea

I dance with the clouds
waiting for white sails
to grace the horizon
because I am lost
wishing to be found

but no one ever comes
to this room in my head
where the only key is mine
and where I am who I was
and who I will ever be

where I dance
with my toes in white sand
under the trees to the
sound of the leaves
whispering of the ocean

the crashing waves
and the tinted blue
of the wide open sea
beckon ever onward
to yet another day

alone

in
that
room
in
my
head.

Artist's Description

Woke up with this going round my head. :-)

This is about the way we feel alone and separated from others even when they’re right there.
