Daisy Chains

Words drip-dropping like rain
Onto sun drenched skin
Glimmering dust motes
Held by nets of golden sun beams
In a heart full of darkness
       Before the light of day
       At the darkest hour
       With no map nor sign
       Just more questions
Forget-me-knot stars
Head down to earth
With comet tails and
Tickle the soft skin
Under the chin
       A smile brightens eyes
       To star shine glitter
       Drip-dropping jewel trails
Of words never to be forgot
Lost in a moment
When exultation strikes like lightning
Memory returns with thunderclaps
Gusts of desert winds
Haunt the empty halls
Deep in the recesses of the soul
       Keening with banshee wails
       Reminders of not quite-healed-never-will
       Drip-dropping tears on deaf ears
Placid where they fall
Growing roots into the paper-dry skin
Bleaching sunlight memories into
The bones of yesteryear’s harvest
Reaching to the sky and beyond to
Grasp for the truth to be had
       Amongst star shine
In the cold of empty space
       Drip-dropping pearls of wisdom
Onto the black fertile ground
Scattering rainbow glamours of
Might-be, maybe and perhaps to
Be picked like sweet berries
From the apple tree in Eden
       Daisy-chained together for
A necklace to be worn at daybreak
       For the delectation of
       The passing clouds.

Dedicated to Lisa Jewell for her beautiful mind, her generous heart and her wonderful poetry. :-)

I am a very creative person and it’s my way of dealing with the world, inside and out. I am only happy when I am making things or painting or writing. There are just not enough hours in the day…. I am into poetry and photo manipulation at the moment and also dabbling in photography. :-)

Oh I simply can’t breathe and I’m going to do that walk around my home. You know that walk around you do when you just can’t sit, can’t think, can’t feel anymore. Movement. I’m so deeply honoured, so deeply moved. I must up and walk and yes with tears, oh but they feel like fresh tears….how blessed I feel.
    Thank you so much….xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • My pleasure entirely. I am just glad it made you happy. You are the reason I wrote this because the links we sent backwards and forwards reminded me of daisy chains – not quite sure why. xoxoxoxox ♥♥♥

This is just so beautiful…and dedicated to one of the people dearest to my heart! Thank you for this, it’s just sublime x x

  • Thank you so much Bell. Lisa and I were sending links to poetry backwards and forwards which reminded me – no idea why – of daisy chains which is where the poem name came from. The poem also includes little ‘hints’ to Lisa and her poetry and some of mine to link them together. xo
