There's a Hole in My Heart Part II

There’s a hole in my heart
and that’s fine
no it’s better than that
it’s all mine.

That hole in my heart is
        my access to the divine
        my door to new worlds
        my link to the spirits

There’s a hole in my heart
and that’s oh so amazing
it’s perfect and round
with lovely ruffled edges.

That hole in my heart is
seeing myself from the inside out
gazing at the world from place high up
        watching colours swirling in space.

There’s a hole in my heart
a trusted friend
I’ve known all my life
with me every step of the way.

That hole in my heart is
        ghosts of the past
        visions of the future
sightings of what might have been.

There’s a hole in my heart
a treasure
a bauble
a jewel.

That hole in my heart is
        made of dreams
        made of nightmares
        part of me.

There’s a hole in my heart
don’t worry,
that’s just as it’s supposed to be.

I am a very creative person and it’s my way of dealing with the world, inside and out. I am only happy when I am making things or painting or writing. There are just not enough hours in the day…. I am into poetry and photo manipulation at the moment and also dabbling in photography. :-)

oh my, this is a most amazing continuation to your first. you turn it into a gift – which surely it is. it is that you know it is there, LOVE YOURSELF for it and what you fill it with is indeed magic. all that is in it – and all that is the void – is a place to plant and grow. and so it seems perhaps it is good the hole remains – for constant tending. beautiful, beautiful. hugs for you. xoxoxo

  • :-) Thank you so much for understanding. Yes, I think if looked at the right way, the hole is just the ‘space’ we need to grow. :-) xo

LOL!!.. oh sybille! – you’re quick, i come back after dinner and you’ve already got a response!!….:):)…loved this!!..
especially the fact that the hole in your heart comes with lovely ruffled edges.
:):)…it just brought so many images! – ribbons and lace and ruffly-bits around a “nice”, dark, gory hole on your heart!…macabre but pretty – is there such a genre??!…:):)…

i know what you mean though – perhaps it is the price we may’ve to pay for that access to the divine …just wish they’d find another way though – cos don’t believe people should run around with holes in ‘em – reminds me too much about being ’doughnut people’ for some reason…
forgive me, must be someting i ate, my brain’s on imagery overload….and thank you so much for the dedication :):)…((hugs))..xx chitrali

  • LOL Chitrali – I do macabre but pretty all the time. :-) I think the hole is the price we pay and it’s a but like the place between the strings of a guitar….

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. They mean so much! xo
