Symphony of Dark and Light

    Out of step
    Out of tune
    Out of line

A dark parody
A mirror of distortion
A symphony of discord.

    Dante’s inferno
    Elliot’s hollow men
    My own personal hell.

Clawing at the skeleton of self
Holding on to who I am
Remembering me.

Letting go of the past
Leaving the future to itself
Standing in the present,
firm, with both feet on the ground.

Growing a soul takes more than a day
Losing one less than a night

    Butterflies are moths in disguise
Ravens know more than they say.

At the end of days
we’re on our own.

Rely on your heart
to show you were to go
finding the light
here, there and everywhere
leaving the darkness behind
looking for stars in a moonless night.
