All my own images.

The photo was taken in Cambridgeshire (near Balsham) and edited in Photoshop with my own textures. The quote is from graffiti I saw on a chimney a while back. I always loved it.

I couldn’t decide which version I liked better – colour or black and white, so I am posting both. I felt that each had a different message. For me the black and white image seems to come from a place of despair and the quote seems to be a last ditch attempt to save what can be saved, whereas the colour version seems to carry a feeling of excitement and the quote appears to be full of wonder.

What do you think? Which version do you like better?

I am a very creative person and it’s my way of dealing with the world, inside and out. I am only happy when I am making things or painting or writing. There are just not enough hours in the day…. I am into poetry and photo manipulation at the moment and also dabbling in photography. :-)

I think the same.. I feel that any black and white image conveys a sense of nostalgia and/or despair, especially with the quote you’ve used, whilst the colour image conveys an uplifting message. Both equally as beautiful. In this case though, I love the colour one. Hope that helped!

  • Thank you so much, greatly appreciated.

as said before the dramatic sense of the words combined with the b&w image is just great

Both are beautiful Sybille! I do agree with AmbientKreation. The colour version seems to be happier and more full of promise. The quote goes well with both images but carry two entirely different messages. All that aside…Stunning work!!!

  • Thank you Robin, much appreciated. I still can’t decide which I like better.

B/W but this is great …. BTW I like the positioning of the text rather than centering it

  • Thank you ragman, much appreciated. :-)
