I recently did a self portrait called The pieces of me and a poem to go with it.

Lisa saw it and showed me a poem she’d written some time ago, called Jigsaw which was along similar lines and said she’d always wanted a picture to go with the poem. So I told her to send me a picture and I’d have some ‘jigsaw’ fun with it. :-)

This is the final version inspired by Lisa’s poem.

There’s a similar, simpler version:

I am a very creative person and it’s my way of dealing with the world, inside and out. I am only happy when I am making things or painting or writing. There are just not enough hours in the day…. I am into poetry and photo manipulation at the moment and also dabbling in photography. :-)

    thank you xoxoxoxoxo

  • So glad you like it Lisa. :-) I feel like a jigsaw most of the time, too, and with no idea how those pieces fit together either. LOL xoxoxo

I really like the second version, the pieces seem not as knew …and all have been used more then once coming of at the corners and out of the box ;)

  • Thank you so much FF, much appreciated. I like the 2nd maybe a teeny bit better as well because it seems to tell more of a story, although the simpler one seems to allow ‘more space’ for the face. I am so sorry for the late reply. It’s been a busy week.

Love your final version. I love discovering the little bits & pieces scattered around. As always, fabulous work, Sybille.

  • Thank you so much Lindsay, much appreciated. I like this version because it seems to tell more of a story, and I like the other because it seems to leave more space for the face and expression. I am so sorry for the late reply. It’s been a busy week.

oh yes, I think I prefer this one too, although both are excellent. especially after reading the poem, they truly are both amazing in fact, but the extra addition and slightly different composition does something different here for sure. XOXOXOXOXOXOXO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Thank you so much Shar. :-) I like both versions, to me they both do different things. This one tells more of a story, the other leaves more space and emphasis for the face and the expression on it. Glad you like them. Send me a photo of you and I do something nice with your portrait! xoxoxoxoxo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
