  • MichaelBr

    MichaelBr

Beautiful – love this island. For how many days did you have to wait for the sky to clear or is this Photoshop ?? LOL

  • Paulette x replied

Ha, thanks again Michael. I used to go up about five times a year and I was always blessed with at least a couple of good clear days. Even in the cloud and rain the wind would force a change and with it came changes in colour and light. Sheer magic whatever the weather.

  • MichaelBr

    MichaelBr

I spent there and on other islands (Isla, Jura, Harris, Lewis, Easedale) as well as on the mainland Torridon, Ullapool very happy days. It is so pretty up there. Remember a hike on Skey in the brown Cuilins. It rained all the time we drove there so we just had some fries in the pub and wanted to turn back and then the weather changed and we had a great scramble – absolutely wonderful. And the Rainbows of course…at least twice a day.
You must be really special, hardly met an Englishman who went up there for their holidays

  • Paulette x replied

Ha really? Of course I’m special!! It was either the black or the red Cuillin by the way – hope you don’t mind me saying. Wow, you had a fantastic journey didn’t you. I’ve been to Harris, Lewis, Rahsay, Eigg and Ullapool is lovely. I think it is my favourite place in Britain – trust me to be born English! Nevermind, I’m about to experience Southern Island for the first time since childhood so I’m really looking forward to falling love with that too.

  • MichaelBr

    MichaelBr

You are going to Islay ? it is a lovely place and from there Jura is real close – well worth a hop

  • Paulette x replied

Ah, missed this comment Michael, sorry. No not Islay, Southern Ireland, I mispelt it Island for some strange reason! I’ll be sampling Guinness and looking at shamrocks! :)

  • MichaelBr

    MichaelBr

Yes the red Cuilins. I have been to Scotland several times and each time for a few weeks. I lived in London for 4 years and this was our favorite destination
