In so many things the want or need to become better is often presented as being possible only through the insight offered through those with greater experience, resources or wealth. Certainly there is substance to this position. It is possible to grow and develop through the assistance given from external sources. Here, for this statement, I want to highlight the importance of reflection and the progressions that can be made through focused scrutiny and analysis. For it would be simplistic to state there have been no individuals or groups who have through their own efforts forged onwards to make expansive steps in terms of discovery and understanding. The danger in too readily accepting guidance is the siphoning of perspective to a narrow path. Success has the power to slacken the mind and destroy the minds own questioning aspect. This can even happen when the guide presents an apparantely open vista. Even that vista has its opposition through which it gains substance and in turn creates exclusion. The gathering of independent resources, setting them to a task with doubt and affirmation readily at hand gives the possibility for excellence to emerge. If the persistant will is present, powerful movement will occur.
