I listened to Matthaus-Passion of Bach and cried a lot while I was completing this portrait. It happens sometimes to get overwhelmed by a painting and start crying. This is a portrait of my daughter, but in the end it didn’t look like her anymore. It looked like me when I was a child. I couldn’t explain this resemblance, but it is true that images of my childhood came into my mind while I was painting. I didn’t tell anyone about this, so I was surprised when friends recognized me in the painting.
