After getting comfortable with this great blue heron on a Florida Gulf-side beach, I was able to get in close and lock eyes with this beautiful bird.

  • thank you! yes it was almost surreal to gradually gain this beautiful bird’s trust and approach close enough to freeze our moment of eye contact on film. it is annoyingly difficult to get close shots of birds without bazillion dollar telephoto lenses!
