Crying Gaia

Gaia means earth. According to ancient greek myth, Gaia came from chaos. She is the mother of all gods and became the allegory for giving birth, receiving and taking. Her right is superior to man. Earth is viewed as a living creature and mankind only the guest. Man has lost this conscience. Exploitation is rampant and the ecological system is in jeopardy.
This poem is about the destruction of the living planet by man.

needles popping
children dropping
finger snapping
toes tapping
mothers sighing
politicians lying
bombs exploding
guns loading
babies crying
sons dying
blood’s flowing
oil prices growing
airs thickening
affairs sickening
devils delivering
people quivering
planet’s bleeding
earth’s heating
souls seeping
willows weeping
needles popping
children dropping
