A photo of me when I was still a girl dressed up like as a gypsy. From this time comes my love for the gypsies
I like the aesthetics of the Gypsies!! They are so free in colors, textures and accessories…but I am deeply saddened by the discrimination they experience.
Gypsies have been among the most mysterious, exotic peoples on earth. They have been described as a race of nomads, who have no real home. Gypsies do have their own language, Romani, and they identify themselves as Romani people. The Romani people, have suffered oppression virtually everywhere they have gone. Like the Jews, Gypsies were singled out by the Nazis for racial persecution and annihilation. They were ‘nonpersons,’ of ‘foreign blood,’ ‘labor-shy,’ and as such were termed asocials.
