M. Helena Vieira da Silva – (Portugal 1908 – Francia 1992) was one of the most important European painters in the second half of the twentieth century.
- She studied drawing and painting at an early age. Travel through Europe and living in Paris, where she first studied sculpture and later painting with Dufresne, Waroquier and Friesz, among others. Make designs for textiles and tapestries.
She is distinguished with awards and recognitions. Her work is part of the principals museums in the world.
- (…) In her paintings we find very specific areas in which each plot hide a mystery of the infinite. Borders, borders everywhere define borders that not define anything, they do not prevent any transgression " Michel Seuphor.
“*A painting must have a heart, nervous system, bones, circulation. It should resemble a moving person. It is necessary that whoever looks at it, be faced with a company that will make it tell stories, give you certainties because a painting, is not a escape, must be a friend who speaks, who discovers the riches that lie in us and in our return.* " Vieira da Silva
