Is very rare to find a white copihue. I found this in a forest near to Frutillar, in southern Chile. The copihue is the national flower of Chile, a native flower that blooms from summer to late fall. The scientific name is Lapageria rosea. It is a climber. Giving red flowers, but there are also pink and white varieties are very rare. It grows in dark forests where high humidity and takes about 10 years to bloom. For being slow and the continuous predation which is subject was declared a “protected species” by the Forest Act, as it is in danger of extinction.
