I was pleased to find that my If looks could kill….. made the top 10 in the Natural Developments features for the month of September, thanks to the hosts and those who voted in favour, a hearty congrats to Sharon Bishop for landing the first place.
Akiko left comment on one of my photographs so I thought I’d go have a look to see what she does. I was blown away with her ‘big cat’ art, please pop in to visit her bubble, what amazed me even more is that most of her works are miniatures. Akiko
I somehow feel that I should apologise for posting all my work that has been featured over the past 2 weeks. Please understand that it is my way of thanking my friends and watchers for their ongoing support and inspiration and also the moderators of the relevant groups.
I’m saddened to see find my Stranded Trawler did not survive the power of nature. Numerous attempts were made to refloat her, a 200m sand bank made it very difficult for tug/s to get close enough. I went down this afternoon to capture it’s dying moments to find only the bridge in the surf. Unfortunately the South African Dept of Nature Conservation would not allow me in to photograph the remains. I persuaded them and explained that it would be the end of a series but to no avail.
I would like to share with all my friends and watchers this wonderful news this Monday morning. I received a bmail from Mundy Hackett informing me that my Cape Dwarf Chameleon II had won 1st place in the May 2008 Natural Developments Group competition. I would like to thank all who voted for me and I would also like to congratulate all the runners up. Last but not least a hearty thanks to Mundy for running and managing such a wonderful group, thanks to RB for the voucher and the honour of having this image in the 2009 Calendar.

An artist on RB approached me some months back and kindly asked my permission to use one of my pieces, Black Shouldered Kite , as reference for a painting she intended doing. Having looked at the talent this artist had I immediately agreed to her request. This is what she produced Please click here
