Yowza MACKY!

This lovely study has a lot going for it in my ‘umble opinion.
You have isolated the bird very well with a depth of field going right through the subject, just the right amount of bokeh to see discernible background detail and you made the shot with a good exposure and great focus.
The light is wonderful as is the lovely natural colour.
What grabs my interest is the dynamic position of the bird, how the tilt of the head makes a nice diagonal line and how the colour and texture of the bird’s breast echoes that of the out of focus Pincushion flower.

Oh yes, I visit every couple of years or so – can’t go too long without my Africa “fix”. Off again next week for a 4-week jaunt around the Western and Eastern Cape. Camera gear and batteries are all ready and charged!
