Fire and the fury

Donna Macarone

Ingham, Australia

Artist's Description

This is an acrylic painting I did while my husband was in ICU after a serious motorbike accident (which was not his fault) as you might be able to tell my emotions sort of overflowed into this painting. Doing this painting helped keep me occupied while waiting out his numerous operations, some of which were 6 and 8 hours long. It was a hugely emotional time as the hospital was a 250km round trip from home and I have 4 young kids (at the time aged 6yrs, 4yrs and 2yr old twins) at home. I was spending half a week at the hospital and half a week at home. He was in hospital for 7 months.
