Thank you everyone. The last ‘recorded’ cannibalism on the island was only back in the mid 70’s. The archipelago was known as the Cannibal Islands to old mariners.

G’day S..Tanna is towards the bottom of the Vanuatu archipelago. I stayed in a village there on the side of the volcano & they local lads re-enacted their first contacts with white man. They are the true ‘cannibal islands’

Absolutely…i was fortunate enough to eat with the chief. They made sure i had drunk plenty of kava to drink before hand so i was starting to hallucinate whilst eating. You usually wont get that but their kava is the strongest in the world and still prepared by the village boys chewing it & spitting it into water. The chief was talking to me without speech but with his eyes & thoughts, we had a conversation like that. Yeah i was having a good time.
