Memoirs of an Intern

My account from last summer. I’m not mentioning the place in my writing but I think many will know where I’m refering to.

I wrote this while riding the train on the way home today. It was almost my stop after I finished writing this; I was amazed how much time flew!

Yup I’m still feeling nostalgic.

Memoirs of an Intern belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Compassion, Courage & Friendship, Live, Love, Dream: , The Healing Journey and Travel and Adventure

Longing to be back to the land by the sea,
Where the air smelled nostalgically sweet in the cool summer breeze.
They said I was lucky to have an experience like this;
Some of the staff had never left their country before.

I would smile silly because I was just happy to be there,
And they thought I was a funny girl.
We bonded a lot; they were very interested in me.

Walking by the river every morning was pleasant;
I’d spot a family of ducks; the ducklings were cute and fluffy.
In the evening we bid each other goodbye
As a rainbow framed the full moon in the misty sky.

I could never forget the welcome party they threw me,
Washing away my tension and fear,
We celebrated again on my last day, having dinner at the beach
While watching a beautiful sunset over a mountain across the sea.
After the sun went down we played with fireworks;
In the end they presented me with gifts.

How sad I was to leave…

Back in school missing those days
Suddenly my supervisor shows up,
And soon after he walks away…
I seek him, wondering why he leaves without saying goodbye.
I find him with the rest of the staff; even those who never left the country!
They had all come to see me…

I open my eyes; it was a dream.
I smile assuring myself I’ll see them again.
My supervisor did not say goodbye because it isn’t goodbye yet;

I shall see them again, some day…
