It’s a tee. It’s a dress. It’s the new Graphic T-shirt Dress.

I should have kept running, but Wonderland was so stunning.

Artist's Description

Picking up my breath
Without stopping for a rest,
Thinking “I’m going to be late!”
As I picked up my pace.

Initially from the map
It looked like a short path,
But boy was I wrong
This route proved to be long.

What a price it was to pay,
So many fences in the way.
So much for a tourist map,
The information was crap. :(

A big site with only one entry
Made my morning a rough journey.
I had to find the way around
Getting into the ancient ground.

I was feeling miserable
For going around in a circle.
Like the rabbit on the go
Dashing on my toes.

I should have kept running
But Wonderland was so stunning.
So I stopped to get a good look
As I pulled out my sketchbook.

The Roman Forum (Rome, Italy). Taken during my Rome exchange on September 24, 2008 with an Olympus FE-340; enhanced and converted to sepia in Photoshop.

A few may remember that I used to have a coloured version of this image in my portfolio. I took it down because I wasn’t very happy with it – even though I had edited that version too. As amazing as the view was, I had a simple camera and the day time light shining towards me didn’t really make a good shoot. But today I’ve decided to come back to this and try it out in sepia, and like this version much better.

On this day our class was to take a tour in the Roman Forum. Looking at my map, I chose the route which I thought would be the shortest; but boy was I wrong. The route I chose had a lot of fences in the way and I had to make my way around them (the maps from the tourist booths really don’t tell enough). The Roman Forum is large; and there is only one entry, so I had to go in a circle. So after realizing I took a long route I skidded in a hurry, but along the way got distracting by some amazing views of the Forum through the fences, so I occasionally stopped in between my running to take pictures going “Sh- – I’m going to be late, I’m going be late! … Oh this is nice (click); I’m going to be late, I’m going be late! … Oh pretty (click); Ah CR- – I have to get going!… Oh bella … (click)…”. At this moment I also saw the Colosseum in the distance. Comes to show how much we miss if we’re always on the go!

Some of the images I took inside the forum are also included in my Rome calendar (I may switch images around sometimes). All images in the calendar are from my exchange.

Well, despite the detour, I was still one of the earliest to arrive anyways :)
