This is a mural I did during my final year in high school with a few other students. This mural was completed in two months, whereas most of the other murals in the school at the time took over a year. Grade 12 was my favourite year in high school; having completed most of my credits I had more time for extra curricular activities, so I joined the art club and painted this mural. Unfortunately first year in university was not very nice treat, and missing the good old high school days, I visited the high school one day after my first year was over…
This mural was located outside the gym. Notice how I said “was”; when I went to see the mural it was vandalized; parts have been scratched away and hair was drawn on some faces and other areas. As of now it doesn’t exist anymore. I suppose this location was one were that type of activity was more prone to happen; it was a dark area on the ground level in front of the vending machines; other murals in the school were on the upper floors just outside of classrooms.
On the bright side; while I was working on this one day, a visitor passed by and offered me a summer job:
Medium: Acrylic on concrete blocks

Lovely mural. It’s very hard to go from somewhere and something we know and have mastered to something completely new— and be on the bottom of everything! Although it looks like Earth, university is a completely different planet totally removed in time and space from family and friends. It’s hard for everybody, and apparently you’’ve done very well in the next stages of your life.
wow this is sad its hard to believe people like to vandalize things it makes you want to cry thats why i dont really hang my stuff up in real galleries in restaurants mostly online they get gone too easily
Well, as I said in my description, it was in an area where that sort of thing was more prone to happen. It’s harder for me to believe that things would get stolen in a more intimate environment (unless the restaurant is like a crowded bar with many people standing up and walking). Thank you so much Lore.

Beautiful work, you are so gifted!
Cool work! A shame it was vandalized. But that’s nice it led to another job.
