Artist's Description

Running in darkness
With gun in the hand;
Not remembering
When the chase began.
What was I pursuing?
I could not remember;
Maybe revenge,
Or was I a bounty hunter?
Blinding storm clouds
Made it hard to see,
But before I knew it
You appeared before me.
Lost for words
I fall into tears.
My sight became clear
As you came near.
The hot red fever
That made me go blind
Cooled down like night
As you kissed my eyes.
I almost forgot myself;
I only thought of my fight,
But like an angel
You showed me the light.
What was I chasing,
What was unseen;
Maybe next year I’ll know
The meaning of this dream.

.
Drawn in red and blue lead on an A4 sized acid-free paper in my sketchbook- no black was used; some areas just looks black because that is the result you get when mixing blue and orange together. See detail here

(The detail is not from the final version)
I did this a few days ago; thought I’d leave is aside and come back to this. In the days that followed I got occupied by some surprise calls and sources of stresses (that were really unnecessary) followed by a bad headache, so my apologies for falling behind on the new works.
Coming back to this today; I thought to myself I wouldn’t make mistakes regardless of the outcome – it was a rather experimental where the process becomes a part of the drawing – madly sketching out an mad person in red, which then becomes calm, and then drawing some distinct calm figures and details in blue. However I actually uploaded this earlier today and knew something wasn’t right so I went back to it.
See the earlier version here

As a picture itself the above one may have been okay, but I wrote the poem prior to drawing and thought it was too white for that. I also decided I wanted to crop it to emphasize on the eye. I may upload the final uncropped version another day.
See the final, uncropped, version here

I haven’t drawn for a long time, making it a first since…2008? I was trying something new, so drawing wise, this is different from anything I have in my portfolio.
