This was during a festival in Kamakura, Japan called “Yuigahama Sairei”

During this festival God would be summoned to join the people on the Earth, and he would be carried around the city in an omikoshi. I was acutually planning to see the Kamakura Daibutsu on this day, but it just happened so there was something exciting going on in the city. Was very lucky to be in the right place and at the right time.

As Is. Taken with a Fuji E-510 on June 3, 2007.

I love the expressions on their faces, apparently the face of God is much more diverse than boring pious benevolence, (thank God!) Love the shot, nice work.

  • Thank you. Yeah, these little messangers brightened up the scene as they appeared.
