Taken on my last day of work during my internship in Hayama, Japan on August 8th, 2007. The office threw me a farewell dinner party at Hayama Isshiki beach, as we watched the sunset with Mt. Fuji and Enoshima in the distance; one of my most cherished memories.

Mt. Fuji’s exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan.

As is, taken with an Olympus FE-220.

You realize you have to stop breaking my heart with these beautiful ocean scenes. I love the clouds over MT Fuji, or under Mt. Fugi. i love the muted colors. I live near Pikes Peak, a 14,110 ft. mountain. The song, “America the Beatiful” was written about the view from the summit of Pikes Peak.

  • It certainly is nice to live near mountains. I took this during my internship in Japan where I worked for a little architecture and interior design firm. I remember a client buying a piece of land where he could have the view of the sea and Mt. Fuji.

The day I took this was rather heart breaking for me; it was my last day of work. As excited I was to begin my holiday and go sightseeing around Japan, I knew I was going to miss my co-workers. They were a lovely bunch; we were like a little family, always going to the conveniance store to buy our bento lunch and dinners. On my last day they took me to the beach and we had a farewell dinner while watching the sunset, which was most spectacular, and as night fell we played with fireworks. That was last summer; and I still daydream about it a lot.
