Introducing leggings. Step into a world of stunning designs.

A little bit at a time
Can bring a successful climb.
And with an extra hand
We’ll rise over the land.

So far 2011 is a better year than what 2010 has been. I’m still dealing with a number of matters; although ever since posting Wish there has been improvement, so I am very thankful for everyone who has left encouraging comments and prayed for me.

On another note, I have realized as well that I was not the only one facing difficulties in 2010; and some of my own friends who have been dealing their own troubles have been supportive of me; which I am extremely thankful for. They support me and pray for me, I support and pray for them, and then most often both sides benefit; the greater the support we give each other, the greater the change we see. Much like this piece I have made. It began with a piece of paper like this

I took a piece of velum paper (just one of my leftover scraps from my days as an architecture student) I cut out some squares that are attached to each other by the corners, and then I also made a big cut around those squares to create a flap. Each time those squares are folded into a crane, the string of paper get shorter, and the cut out flap begins to curl. With each folded crane the paper curls more. Folding one square only makes a small difference, but folding them all lifts up the paper. As such I dedicate this piece to all my friends who support me, and give me strength. I alone cannot make much difference, but the more I reach out to, and get positive response from, the more positive energy there is to ‘lift’ the odds.

A few have asked me to pray for them too when I asked them for prayers, and I was more than happy to do so. I know in some cases my prayers for them have taken some effect; and I hope it is like that for the rest, or that they will take effect.

For a better idea of scale

These little masterpieces must take hours to make.

  • Hmmm, well when they are individually apart, they take me about 10 minutes; although no doubt for ones that are connected together like this, it requires more care in order to not accidentally split the chain apart. I don’t think it take me an hour to make one in a chain; although making the whole thing, yes it can take over an hour depending on the number of cranes there are. Thanks so much Dave.

What incredible patience it must take to give flight to these tiny wonders!

  • As I said, just one along, won’t fly, but having some comrades that stick along, together they make a difference. Every little help counts. Each person may have their limit to how much they can give, but when combined with everyone else’s efforts, they can do the unthinkable.

So fragile and gorgeous and powerful!
What a wonderful title : yes, “together” we can make miracles. I continue to believe the power of our group focus will bring some resolution to the chaos of the last year.

  • I am glad you agree with me mmargot; and I hope others will too. I hope there will be more positive responses over the next few days because every single one, no matter how much they can contribute, counts; even when it is just in the mind.

Fantastic work, Mui-Ling! REminds me of an inspirational poster I saw once. It had a photo of a tree completely covered in snow, and the caption “Teamwork. The snowflake is one of nature’s most fragile creations, yet look what can be done when they stick together!” I’m glad to be part of your team.. or in this case “chain”, Mui-Ling! And I’m also glad you are part of mine!

  • How cool! That poster does speak the truth and relates to this work as well! I’m glad that you’ve joined my chain too; every member counts! It is amazing how having one less or one more while being little can still make so much difference. Now I know there are more than 9 people praying for me, but then again, what I am dealing with is more complicated than lifting a piece of paper~ Thank you so much again for your support Steve!
