Self-portrait

This was a concept I had in mind prior to the time I uploaded Lily. I folded a couple more lilies with 15×15mm pieces of papers, but as I tried out the photo, it didn’t look so good. So I bumped up the size folded more lilies, this time with 2×2cm papers, and I think it looks better.

This idea was based on my Substitute for a silent mouth of Sorrow; have a look at that piece to read what that one is about. But don’t get me wrong; I’m not gloomy or anything :-) just wanted to execute the idea.

such lovely teeth gorgeous..:), and so so clever Mui-ling

  • That’s where I was having trouble… with the smaller lilies it looked more like teeth and I was trying to avoid that. It still looks a bit teethy now in small preview, but when seeing large not as much atleast.

Great idea, and fantastic execution! I wonder if you had used coloured paper if the flowers would have looked less like teeth? Selective colour would have worked too! Keep up the great work!

Scratch my last comment… I just read the story, and now understand why they are white. Touching story! Kudos to you for being so sensitive to local custom!
