Taken from the garden of Hampton Court Palace in Surrey, UK on April 13, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340.

On this day I went to Surrey and visited Hampton Court Palace. The palace was extravagant; richly adorned with paintings, frescoes, moldings, statues, tapestries, and more (deer antlers, guns, weapons etc.) And further more there was a beautiful garden with flowers, trees, swans, fountains, but also a great body of still water reflecting the sky above. I believe, that even more than the wealth of a king, that the greatest treasures all come from nature.

I have taken the same view and with an Olympus as well, but I would have to do an extensive search through my paper files to find it…it was 30 years ago…beautiful shot Mui-Ling…Hampton Court is still out of this world…

great shot! gives a wonderful sense of how huge the garden are. I have been to Hampton Court many many years ago and still remember how wonderful it was.

Lovely image and it certainly does more for me than the interior of a palace.

Strongly agree with you that the greatest treasures come from nature. Well put!

  • I would have guessed that you would agree :)
And I assume you’ve also been here?

actually, i have not! So i will put that on the list for the next time. And don’t get me wrong either, i certainly have nothing against beautiful frescoes, paintings and tapestries! Rome must have been amazing.

  • Oh I don’t doubt that you appreciate those things; I was really engulfed into that myself! Have you been to the Tower of London? Entries to these kind of places are rather expensive, but I bought some kind of Royal Pass which allowed me one entry into Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and the Banqueting house. There were other kinds available which worked in different ways (a different combo of different places; or different entry conditions); it’s something to look out for ;)
