Hello all,
As you may have noticed, my comments are coming in slowly… I’m just in a panic because there are a lot of things which I have to get ready for before school. But at the same time I still want to do art.
I was so happy to find this community and do art again; I haven’t enjoyed art this much since high school. In my university program there are no summer vacations; school and internships rotate constantly. In school I’m always too busy to do any of my own art, and during internships, if I’m working in another city I spend the time sight seeing.
I worked in Toronto this time because I needed to save money in order to afford my upcoming exchange in Rome starting in September. During this time I decided to do more art again, and had more time for it because this internship is 8 months whereas my previous ones were only 4 months; then I found this lovely community. Now time is flying by and I hope to complete more pieces before I head off, though consequently that means I have less time to look and comment on new works, but I hope everyone understands… this is my only chance to enjoy doing art this much. I will still comment on your work, but just not as quickly and frequently. I may instead decide to visit your profiles and look through your portfolio rather than looking at what’s new.
So my plan is that I’ll try to comment in the morning when I arrive at work, and after work, I’ll do what I need to do, and also do my art. I expect most of the new things will be miniature origami; it seems to be the most popular among my work; though I apologize to those who maybe tired of it :P
Thank you everyone for being such wonderful people. I just know there will be days in school where I’ll need to get away from all the stress, and talk to people who I don’t see every single day. I hope you’ll all still be there for me then~
My love to you all…

Hi Mui-Ling
I can relate to the constant juggling between work/study/redbubble. At the moment I’m reduced to sneaky looks at the activity monitor while I should be doing other things at work, but like you don’t take as much time to comment or interact with other bubblers. The result is that I quite often resent my ‘day job’ because I’d rather be bubbling.
I know that it’s all about achieving a balance, but haven’t quite worked out what that balance should or can be.
Good luck with your balancing act, looking forward to seeing some of your new work before you head off.

I’ve become such an RB addict. I don’t know what I’ll do once I head off to school as I know I’ll be very busy. During first year I was so stressed out I didn’t allow myself the time to daydream; very bad. But that year I also didn’t have any internet; no connect to the other world to keep me sane. While I maybe too busy to be bubbling; I may need to come back and escape from stress; we’ll see what happens. Thank you Rory.

Dear Lina, your support means a lot to me. You are a wonderful person. While having a great imagination, you also have strong views. You have opened my eyes; never before have I thought so much about current issues. I think you should be the first female president. I wish to be in a better world where cars run on H20 and where honeybees are not in danger; but that can only change if people change universally, and that can only happen when rules are set. I do not have the power or the great knowledge to create that revolution; but I hope for people who can save this planet.

Just do what you need to do. Your life takes priority over RB. Just remember that your work is great, but you still have priorities. I know all too well how difficult it is to stay away from bubble lol. Best wishes to you Mui-Ling!!!

Mui Ling.. you keep you feeling happy.. and keep making infinite birds on your hand.. the world will change as we change from the inside out…I get on soap box for one day.. then I turn to art and you all and then my feelings change to hope. and expectation that the world is a wonderful place full of promise and beauty and fairness and Love.. you just keep being you and the world will have a chance!

I know I speak for everyone who knows and loves you, Mui-Ling, in saying there will always be somebody here when you log in, and that we’ll miss you very much. We’re also very serious about your schooling and might scold you if we see too much of you! (LOL) So work hard, make lots of new friends, learn as much as you possibly can, and we’ll be here. Most of us, I’m sure, will be here when your schooling’s done, and just maybe you life won’t be so frantic after that… then you’ll start a family, have your work, etc., etc., but friends are forever, and we’ll always think of you when you’re not here.
I think your origami calms your mind and spirit, as long as it does that, we’ll never get tired of it. So—we’ll see you when we see you, and miss you when we don’t. How’s that? And—ditto to our dear Linaji’s words. We make the choices for the world we live in, from the inside out we change how things are. We reach across barriers, oceans, check-points, borders and extend love, friendship, understanding. We all need each other. Hugggzzzz, Mui-Ling Teh. -=Dayonda

Mui-Ling, I don’t work and I still have trouble catching up. Mars isn’t going to crash into the moon because you miss some comments on RedBubble. This is the most important time in your life. Concentrate on your education and your trip to Italy. We will aways be here for you. We will miss you but we all want the best for you. No guilt, Mui-Ling. Like someone else said, there will aways be some of us on-line when you visit RedBubble. You have been a great friend to me and I’m sure a lot of other people. Hugs!!!!!! Lori

Dear Ling, eat well, study good, rest enough and have joy in art. We love you whatever, however, whenever…..susan.

I don’t think time difference will be a problem; rather school forces me to have a weird sleeping schedule that there will most likely be many moments when we are both awake. Thanks fa :)

Sounds great Dayonda; many thanks. I hope you won’t scold me before school starts though because I still want to do a lot of uploading before then :P
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Lori Peters’s comment, 2 months ago
Thank you for your understanding Lori. I was hoping I didn’t sound too selfish by stating that I want to upload more while not being able to comment as much. The school matter isn’t exactly what putting the most stress on me right now; there is another matter to resolve, but once that is over I may be more active again until school begins.

There about a month before I embark. I will try to get up as much as I can, and I can still comment in the morning and during my breaks at work. At school it’ll be hard though. Many thanks Vickie.

Dear butch. Every semestre in our program we’d have one course where we read novels and did in class essays. That may not seem to be directly related to architecture, but it is in fact beneficial to us by helping us understand people and society which we design building for. One of those classes as you may remember we went into a lot of philosophy. I also took a philosophy course and your work really reminded me of that class. Hope you keep producing what you do; I may have to look through your portfolio for inspiration if I need ideas :P. Don’t worry, I won’t be using your stuff in my presentations; I remember a journal you wrote long ago regarding something like that happening with someone else. I won’t do the same.

Leslie, we’ve only starting looking at each others work recently, and I’m glad to have met you. It sad that it is suddenly gotten to this point; but who says good friends can only be those who’ve known each other long? Many Thanks.
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Gregory John O'Flaherty’s comment, 2 months ago
Thank you Greg, you are a very nice person. I don’t know why you ever got banned from submitting works to group though I’m glad that’s been lifted. Best to you.

Was debating on whether I should tell you this, but I’m gonna ;)
When receiving comments or replies from you. I feel like I’m talking to a bird :P. I guess that’s because you capture their expression so well it is like I’m talking to them face to face. Hehehe. I’ve enjoyed your photographs Jon, take care.

Don’t be hard on yourself. Sometimes I can’t comment as much as I like because i have a life other than RB. You didn’t sound selfish at all-just the opposite.

Hi Mui-Ling,
I have arrived quite late I see!!!!
You are much loved by the RB community very obviously and for good reason! :D
I do apologise for my own late response..
but i’ve been away visiting my parents and helping my mum set up her new computer, I have missed many comments and my activities list is all of 10 pages long…it’s a great struggle to keep up….i fully understand….there seems less and less time available for creating, which is really the most important thing of all isn’t it :D
Achieving a balance as samedog says, is indeed something we need to work out…and for each one of us, that’s going to be a different…..but we all eagerly await your every new creation, and when they arrive on RB are genuinely taken back by the beauty contained therein…..
So don’t stress about the comments thing…...we just look forward to the new creations!!
Hugs, K xo

Thanks Karin. I got really streessed out on the day I wrote this because I was communicating back and forth with the school on how to get a UK visa for after Rome, and they haven’t been very helpful. They kept getting me confused and also kept telling me not to do it online because students get rejected that way, or so they say. So I’m in just in a panic about the visa now.
Seeing that I was getting no where with the school staff I asked classmates and one responded today saying doing it online is very easy and that that the school’s method was just more troublesome (and more expensive too apparently). So much for the school… Hopefully this will set me straight.
