Remember the ducklings I saw yesterday morning? (see here)
Yesterday I wanted to take more pictures during lunch, but when I went back to the pool I could find them and thought somehow they made their way “home”. This morning on my way to work I saw them again! That means they really are living in the concert hall courtyard! Guess they were hiding during lunch yesterday.

They were more upclose yesterday, but atleast this time I could get them all together (though they were moving so fast these pictrures got blurry).
I came back during lunch, and found them gathered at the back (the little blobs in the shadow behind the planter)

They walk around, but wait!...

Aww, this one was left behind, and was trying so hard to jump out! It was so funny to watch it step back (I mean paddle back :P) and bulding some momentum, swimming quickly towards the corner. Eventually it made the jump. These little creatures are young, but they can swim fast!
(I didn’t recharge the camera last night, and the battery was running out. Apologies for the poor quality)
The photos above where from the underground path that looks into the courtyard. Later I decided to go outside and look over the courtyard:

And now I know where they live, someone must have provided that plank for them!

Overview of the courtyard:

paddle paddle, quack quack

I gave a few comments today, but now I’m really tired; didn’t sleep well last night. I’ll try to catch up later…

Thank you so much for sharing “your” ducks with us!
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Gail Bridger’s comment, about 1 month ago
Glad you enjoy them Gail. It’s unusal to see something like this in a city like Toronto; you’d expect to see something like this more likely in Vancouver.

Your welcome. Enjoy.

darling duckies….i love little baby birds!!!
When i was a little girl i “scrubbed” our baby turkeys…
because turkeys are flecked and i’d never seen one before
and only ever seen yellow chicks …. i assumed (at the at of 2)
that the turkey chicks were dirty!!! ....so i chased them round
the yard – caught each one – and scrubbed it…..
my mum and dad recall me pulling at their legs to come and
“Watch the birdies”...but i was trying to tell them that I’d “Washed the birdies!!”
O dear!!! When they finally arrived to see what I’d done…the baby chicks were
all laid out in a row scrubbed…..they all survived…with a little warming by the fire….
lol
i love these little duckies in toronto….nature is everywhere :D

aww what great shot Mui-Ling, it’s like a little story :)
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Karin Taylor’s comment, about 1 month ago
That’s nice that you owned baby turkeys. My friend who lives across me once had pets chicks (very unusual for someone who lives in a suburban area like Thornhill). They were first kept in the basement, and as they got bigger they were kept in the garage. They had one full grown hen, and I remember once it had flown out of its box, and when my friend and I saw it walking freely around in the garage, my friend started chasing it to put it back. It was hilarious.

Same hare. The day before I think I was the only one who took a picture, but on this day other people had their cameras out in the morning too.
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to frozenfa’s comment, about 1 month ago
No I didn’t feed them. From the underground path I took pictures behind glass, and looking over the courtyard; well they’re kinda far. I’d probably get into trouble too if I fed them :P
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Leslie Hagen’s comment, about 1 month ago
Yes they are!
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Dawnsky2’s comment, about 1 month ago
Thank you Laura. I know that’s the first time for me to call you by your real first name, but I added dawndavies to my watchlist recently, and it might get confusing if I call you both dawn :P Hope you don’t mind.
Dawnsky2, about 1 month ago
no i don’t mind at all Mui-Ling,, yes when dawn and I used to talk, it was so funny, coz she would say,’‘dawn, this is a great image dawn’’ or i would say ’’dawn, this is a great image of the dawn, well done, dawn’’ and it really got confusing and soooo funny….hence she calls me Laura too now hehehe,,,,x

Mui-Ling Teh in reply to eltotton’s comment, about 1 month ago
Hehe, for sure. Today they aren’t really out much; they were hiding behind the planter :P.
