Nature's Moments
completed 2004 age 18
Everyday we see so much of the world around us. But how often do we take the time to explore one in detail? There are, for example, many varieties of trees, and within each tree you can see a variety of leaves, and in each leaf a variety of color. Framing a particular moment draws more attention to its detail.
Thank you everyone for your comments; they are very inspiring. I even see comments drawing on current issues; which is great.
Medium: Watercolors
I can’t remember what brand of paint I used; but the pigment was in a tube as opposed to being a dry type that needed to be wetted to use. The background was first wetted, that painted onto, while the subject, I painted onto directly to the dry surface, which I believe was 30 pound paper.

Think it is so important to slow down and notice the wonder in everything from people to nature. We chase such specified activity these days and miss so much. In doing this we are also missing ourselves.

Very true, we are in a world driven by speed. But sometimes, when distance is not too long, I walk as opposed to taking bus of streetcar, and I see so much more. Sometimes I can get lucky by doing so; One time while I was in Japan, I got off at an earlier stop from the one closest to my homestay, and it just so happened there was a festival going on there :)

Your words ring so true! We live in such a fast paced world and don’t really take the time to stop and smell the roses as we should… It is those spontaneous moments observing nature that make for inspired art. You have captured this beautifully with this work! The lighting and detail is superb!
