3cm Family Swim

3cm Family Swim

This will be the last origami piece I post before heading off to Rome; and I will unlikely be doing anymore while I’m in school. I’m not fooling around; I made these ducks before in the first version of “3cm Family Swim” as shown above; and remember I said I may redo that shot at some point? I’ll still keep the other one up though. In this coloured version I coloured the water and sky and placed a transparent ruler over the water. This one has one less duckling than the previous one (I laid off the little guy who wouldn’t raise his bum :P)

Every duck was folded from trace paper; mommy duck was folded from a 15×15mm piece, the middle one was 6×6mm, and the little one at the back 5×5mm.

ooooooo what can i say Mui-Ling, but how much i love this final piece before you head off on your new adventure, and how very appropriate and apt it is. I love how you’ve created this to look like a painting from the thumbnail, and then on closer inspection, you can see what you’ve done, created these darling origami ducks for us to love and adore…..and they like you, are on their way … on their own special journey somewhere … where many more adventures await!!

  • Mui-Ling Teh replied

Of course Karin! Now by visit I’m guessing you were probably refering to visiting on RB, but I was just thinking how much I would love to visit you in Australia (and play with Nudge and Basil; hehe XD). I think you have a lot ahead awaiting for you yourself; and one day I shall pick up an art’s magazine and read your “Inspirationally Speaking…....”

Speaking of ducks on their journey; there were at least nine when I first started seeing them on my way to work, but later on in Today’s Duckling Adventures! there were only two. It looks like these little guys depart from their parents very early; amazing how quickly they mature… I still feel like a kid so often… or atleast I wish I still was one :P.

it’s sad how the ducklings disappear, we see the same here with plovers on the land….the snakes unfortunately prey on them, even tho the parents work so hard to keep them safe …. aw :(

Thanks Lina! I’ve felt time has gone by really fast; but for ducks time must be flying even faster! (Have you seen my reply to Karin?)
