Surprise!
I used to love collecting these plastic eggs (they can be handy as back massagers!)
I folded this bird while RB was “enjoying a brief hiatus” today, from a 15×15mm piece of paper that I colored with a gold pen; didn’t want to get too small otherwise I would need a smaller egg. I stuck the tail to the inside of the egg shell with double sided tape.
Here’s to a moment of excitement when opening a little present!

Lori Peters
It’s amazing that anyone could create something so small but so beautiful.
Mui-Ling Teh replied
Thank you Lori. I wasn’t really thinking properly at the time and took a piece of white paper; which is a bit thicker than the lined paper I usually use; hence harder to fold with. But glad it came out; was struggling a bit with that little beak due to the thickness.

woweee what a SUPER shot!!!!!!! geesh that is awesome
frozenfa
aha!! cute cute!! i love how you set the lighting.. and how the lil one just seems to pop out of the egg!! cute one, Mui-Ling!! another great job i see~ man.. it’s still amazing to see these small pieces of art.. =D
Mui-Ling Teh replied
Thanks fa! I decided not to use the crane this time because apart from the possibility that people may be tired of those; the crane tail points up, whereas this bird with it’s tail down can be taped to the egg and make it look like it’s flying out.

Mui-Ling Teh replied
Thanks Dawn; I just realized I forgot to add the scale reference :P – it’s there now.

Beautiful work, how you can make such small birds …...? ....very nicely done.
(Thanks for your funny comment, i really had to laugh about it:)
Mui-Ling Teh replied
lol, I love all your mouse pics, but that was the best one yet XD I still laugh about it. I do my miniature origami using tweezers and needles. This one was one of my biggest, but as I said in the description, I would’ve needed a smaller egg if I folded any smaller.

lovely image… light is great here ! Hope you enjoy Rome as much as I did !
Mui-Ling Teh replied
Thanks. Right now I’m just struggling with housing. Right now I live far from my school, and with the kind of program I’m in, that makes my school life difficult. Are you familiar with the Trastevere area? That’s where my school is and I’m trying to find a place there.
Alessandro Pinto
well… I was familiar with Trastevere.. there is where i used to go at night.. it´s a lovely place and i really love it ! But it ´s as well very expensive compared to other places..!! Hope you´ll find a nice flat soon or at least a room..! Let me know !
Mui-Ling Teh replied
I actually just found one today and booked it :D. I’ve learned from experience that I don’t have time to compare places. I’ve been interested in a few places before which got taken even before I had a chance to check them out! Yesterday I was informed of a place for 550 euros a month inclusive that is a 15 min walk to my school. I checked it out today and claimed it.
