Life is a Journey
The flow of life is parrallel to a journey off the land. It begins smooth, then the waves of adulthood brings high tides which we must overcome, However at the end of the ride, everything is smooth again. Ironically the lifeline in my palm depicts this flow; it begins smooth, then there is a big split and begin to ruffle, but towards the end it comes back together again.
This paper was about 7.5×7.5mm. Random dimension; I know. At home I have scrap pieces of Hilroy lined paper where the bottom line is 6mm tall; hence my typical 6×6mm folds, but the scrap paper I used for this had lines about 7.5mm tall.
I was so excited to put up some origami again but had a lot of trouble with the photography (I originally had a different idea on how to present this), and I eventually gave up on that and did this instead, placing the boat near the end of the lifeline in my hand ( because my old idea is in the grave :P). This may not give much idea for scale, so I also took this:

Thank you my friend; and thanks for the fav. I hope you’ll still like it tomorrow because I’m actually thinking of retaking this again; I realized after uploading that my camera was not set to the highest resolution :P. Can’t do anything about it now though because my camera battery was already very low as I took this.

oh wow, what a gorgeous little piece of origami you have created here
having the ruler there really helps to see just how minute the little boat actually is….
it’s soooo tiny! i love how you imbue everything you do, with a sense of purpose and meaning Mui-Ling..i admire you so much! Do you know if this is the smallest as far as records go?
I mean, I couldn’t imagine anyone being able to get them smaller than this!
Mui-Ling Teh replied
Thanks Karin; glad you like it. Well in terms of this particular sailboat maybe, but as far as any origami, my cranes and thumbelina’s flower is smaller.

thats just amazing Mui-Ling! this has to be the smallest ever! you should be in the Guiness book of Records!!!! well done to you :)
Mui-Ling Teh replied
Thanks Dawn. People seem to get the impression that this is my smallest origami creation (which it isn’t); and maybe it’s because of the ruler. I don’t know if they were only refering to this particular kind of sailboat; in which if they were then yes it is my smallest because it is the only small sailboat of its kind I made so far. I’m thinking I may go back to the previous origami works I did and take pictures of them with rulers too. What do you think?
Dawnsky2
yes with rulers too, for although they look so tiny anyway in your hand, it’s astonishing to see it next to a true measurement, totally amzing, you are clever an dthe paitients your must have is awesome! do you know how tiny the tiny-est origami creation is in the Guines book of records? it would be great to find out, you may be able to set a new record,,

And a journey without any destiny….
Metaphors for the soul.
I do not like it much.
Too cartesian…logic.
Not your “vehicle” of Life..
which is eternal.
