Folded Cup
This is my original origami design (or “ori-plastic” in this case). I had to help set up a dinner with a Japanese theme and I was in charge of the dishware. I decided to fold them, and the only way they could be waterproof was if I folded them out of plastic. If not for the bubbles, it would probably be difficult to see that there is water in this cup.
The inspiration for this design came from origami flowers since they are so symmetrical; hence it was suitable for the cup.

Wow! Excellent creativity and design work! Lovely capture my friend! Excellent skill in origami works! How long does it take you?
Mui-Ling Teh in reply to Lam Tran’s comment, 3 months ago
hmmm; I can’t remember; this took pretty long because I first folded the size I wanted out of paper, then unfolded that, then I cut out the same sized piece of acetae, and used a dried up pen or ruler to trace over the fold lines I wanted to fold. To make this cup first required doing some extra folds to create guides; which I did not want to appear in my actual cups. At the same time, since the acetate was thicker and harder, it would make things easier if I made some scores first. It isn’t perfect, and I doubt it can ever be since acetate is a pretty hard medium. One thing for sure that rim will never be perfectly round; because a smooth continuous curve is impossible with layers of folded acetate.

Thank you. Well you have a lot of talent in photography; I love your architectural shots. Somehow despite being an architecture student; it’s one of the things I don’t take good pictures of. I think one reason is because when I see buildings, there are a lot of people and other unwanted elements. Another, I’m too short :P.
