and find a great feeling of peace and comfort as I see the rolling pristine hills and valleys stretching off into the distance. Protected, undisturbed by man, left alone to offer a place of tranquility in a world which often seems to have gone off the rails.
I took this on the eastern slope of McKenzie Mountain, in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Park occupies the northern part of Cape Breton Island, about 950 square kilometres, and was established in 1936. The central plateau offers hills and valleys like I’ve shown, and the outer perimeter offers steep cliffs and headlands, amazing views over the Atlantic Ocean, and deep river canyons flowing down to the sea. Wildlife abounds on the alpine meadows and moose are often seen along the Cabot Trail, the world-famous scenic drive that runs over the mountains and along the coastlines. A place to come back to, again and again.
