Artist's Description

I’m not very happy about heights, so I’m not sure why I attempted this one. On the very narrow dirt road to the tiny outpost of Meat Cove, the last community on the northern tip of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. A beautiful autumn day, with the Atlantic Ocean in a tranquil mood, and the hardwood trees turning into their blaze of autumn colours. To get to this place, you must travel the Cabot Trail through Cape Breton Highlands National Park, then turn off on a secondary road to Bay St. Lawrence, then turn again onto a lesser road to Capstick and finally onto a dirt road which really becomes the “end of the road” at Meat Cove. But the scenery is spectacular. Just have a firm grip on something solid when trying to get that special shot.

Sony DSCF828 camera. 1/200, F4.0, ISO 100, 25 mm.
