McKenzie Mountain is on the western side of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, and is within Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The world-famous Cabot Trail encircles the Park, providing marvelous views of the mountain and ocean scenery.
This view is towards the village of Pleasant Bay, which you can’t see but is down there on the shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Farther out are the headlands stretching towards Cape North, the top of the island, where the open Atlantic Ocean meets the Gulf. This was taken in autumn, when the landscape turns into the most amazing patterns of reds, yellows, oranges and greens as the hardwood trees change colour, mixed in with the evergreens. A time for bus tours from all over North America to come and delight their passengers.
