South-west Alberta, Canada. Along Highway 5, just to the east of Waterton Lakes National Park, there’s a road that goes south and ends at Payne Lake. This is just at the north end, and I think the river runs into the lake. The Rocky Mountains are in the background. It’s a little hike to get from the road to this place by the river, but not difficult and worth taking the time.

Absolutely beautiful Jann. I just got back from Edmonton, my daughter had her 1st child and my 1st grandchild. A beautiful baby girl and she is the apple of my eye. I missed them both from the first step on the plane to return home. Alberta was excellent for my arthritis, now back on the island and in pain.

  • Oh wow Gail, that’s so good to hear! I can just imagine how thrilled you are. Were you there for the birth? I haven’t been to Edmonton yet, but I really like all the parts of Alberta that I’ve seen (Calgary, Drumheller and points south and east. Especially the mountains and parks. I can relate to the arthritis, I’ve got the same problem, and this long wet winter/spring has really gotten me down. Probably worse up-island..and it’s staying colder than usual and longer.
We’re hoping to get up your way for a trip if the sun ever shines for more than an hour or two! Probably in May!
Oh, thanks for your kind comment on the pic., glad you liked it!
George says Hello too and he’s just as happy for you(the grandchild, not the pain !)
