One swan was very intent upon something in the water, and the other one quickly came over and assumed the same look, so the title just seemed to come naturally!
Esquimalt Lagoon, near Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. A favourite stop-over for many migratory birds, many of whom stay for the winter. The tidal lagoon connects to the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and thence the Pacific Ocean.
