Winter driving in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada, can be exhilarating to say the least. This is on Hwy. 99 between Britannia Beach and Whistler, and depending on the altitude, the road was covered with snow, rain or slush, but the forest had that mysterious beauty that I had to admire (didn’t I?) as I did my best to shoot through the windshield. It took quite a few frames to avoid the wipers! And why were all the cars coming the other way?

Welcome to the Great White North, eh? What a grand winter scene, Jann. I’d be staying at home. I don’t need that kind of exhilaration! :o)

  • haha! Oh Mike, it had to be fun, or why were we there? lol! Actually when we left Vancouver it wasn’t doing anything, just a dull day. But in BC you have to take what the next 5 minutes brings, or the next bend in the road. Once committed, the driver just got stubborn and kept going. No further comment!! :))

nice one Jann…I used to drive a big rig up and down this highway Pemberton to Richmond every day …boy I don’t miss those day ….

  • Hi Steve, we didn’t get as far as Pemberton that day, things got too messy and it was also getting dark. We haven’t been over the road since they upgraded it for the Olympic Games, but I hear it’s greatly improved, at least as far as Whistler.
