The harbour of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Two bridges connect Halifax and Dartmouth. The one shown here is the oldest, the Angus L.McDonald, and the photo was taken while driving across the newer one, the A. Murray MacKay, shooting out the car window at about 40 kms/h.(No, I wasn’t driving!)
Directly to the left of the bridge tower is one of the commuter ferries between the two cities. At the right is a Canadian Navy warship cruising in past McNab’s Island. The three-masted sailing ship is the Silva, a ship with a long history, now used for harbour cruises and other activities. In the centre you can see through one of the channels to the open Atlantic Ocean, and there is an assortment of pleasure boats enjoying the beautiful weather.
