Winter does come to the west coast of British Columbia,Canada, though it doesn’t stay long. We took a trip up the Sea To Sky Highway (Route 99) back in 2006, from Vancouver to Squamish. The mixture of snow, fog and clouds were quite a change but gave us a chance for some interesting photos. Along the shore of Howe Sound we came across this deserted beach-front park, with the benches looking quite forlorn, though not quite as much as the empty nests in the trees. I believe they were from a colony of herons. In the background, the Coast Mountain Range.

Beautiful shot, Jann! I find a deserted beach much like an empty kid’s playground – just a little sad!

  • Yes, it was quite lonely looking..the empty picnic tables, empty nests, not many leaves..but still it had a beauty all it’s own. And so peaceful :)

Like this one as well. Looks really nice as a print as well.

  • Thanks Phil, I think I might try it in B/W..it’s almost that already.
