The Cabot Trail is a world-famous scenic road which encircles the northern part of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, and contains the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
This lovely old country home is located about half-way across the island between the west and east coasts, not very far from the village of Neil’s Harbour and the side road which leads to Cape North. Though it looks very isolated, the driveway does connect with the Trail, but behind it are the hills of the Highlands Park, many square miles of pristine wilderness. I have seldom seen a place which looked so peaceful and at one with nature. The hills are coming into their Fall colours, which become truly spectacular at their peak.
Taken early October 2005, with a Sony DSCF828 camera. No post processing.
