Another attempt to get a different perspective of Lake Maligne from the shores of Spirit Island. I liked the look of the Rocky Mountains through the trees, and the deep greens of the forest contrasting with the turquoise glacial waters of the lake.
Lake Maligne is one of the world-famous features of Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Taken early September 2009, Sony DSCF828 camera.

I really like the framing of this shot.

  • Many thanks Allen, I’m glad I made the effort to scramble up the side of the bank to get to that place..lol! I was quite pleased with the view when I got there!

It certainly looks different without the snow. Excellent shot.

  • Many thanks Phil, we’re thinking of going back there sometime this winter just to get some snow shots. Depends on the weather picture in the next while.
