Athabasca Falls is in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, and is one of the highlights of the Park. But like so many places, I find that so many photos show the same basic scene and neglect a lot of views that take a bit more time to find and compose. I found that the deep gorge walls trapped the mists from the torrent of water and gave a more dreamy and fantasy-like aspect to the scene.
The Athabaska River is one of the main rivers that wind through the Rocky Mountains and the Park. The Park is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This a absolutely beautiful, Jann ! :)
Hi Stan! Thanks so much..there were several tours at the Falls, so we went off looking for our own perspectives. We both loved the gorge and all the changes of colours as the mists rose and spun in the wind currents. I have another that’s a little different than this one, which I’ll post later. Couldn’t decide which to do first..LOL!

Powerful, Jann. I was there when I was five and can still hear the thunder when I look at this shot.
Ian.
Hello Ian..I can well imagine being able to remember..it’s a wonderful place, I hope to go back again..I’d love to see it in the spring when the river volume would be maximum!
