On the road to Jasper National Park in British Columbia, we had a lot of rain, heavy clouds, and it looked like our photo ops would be very much curtailed. But there were brief reprieves, and this was one of them. Near Valemount, the upper winds shifted and suddenly we had a brief look at the first ramparts of the Rockies. Barely long enough to get a few quick shots and then the window closed again, but the drama of the huge crags appearing in and out of the clouds was worth the effort. The brief splash of sunlight on the trees also helped.
